A promotional video released by a mining firm drew outrage over images of two young women dressed in bathing suits promoting the Ring of Fire mining project in northern Ontario, a contested project sitting mostly on First Nations land. Women from Indigenous communities across Canada are calling for further exploration into the correlation between sexualized violence and mining, oil extraction and extractive industry work camps.
