Women from Uganda, South Sudan, Liberia and other African countries are taking advantage of the opportunity to become solar engineers through Barefoot College. Stella is a hard-working grandmother from Malawi who graduated from the program in India and returned to her village to work in solar energy. As for Bawor Mamma, her work as a solar engineer provides relief from the daily chores of farming and the opportunity to help her community access renewable energy.
