Mexico Needs Healing: The First Indigenous Woman To Run For President

Mexican woman María de Jesús Patricio Martínez has been nominated by the Zapatista National Liberation Army (EZLN) and Mexico’s National Indigenous Congress to represent their communities in next year’s elections for president. Patricio is a leader in preserving traditional Indigenous medicine and healing techniques, a gift she says comes from her deep connection to the Earth.
