Councilwoman Casey Camp-Horinek of the Ponca Nation traveled to New York City to speak at the “Indigenous Women Protecting Earth, Rights, and Communities” event presented by WECAN International. Camp-Horinek joined thousands of other peaceful protesters at Standing Rock in 2016. During the event in New York, she expressed continued commitment to fighting the expansion of Keystone XL pipeline, as well as other extractive projects that directly impact the health of her people.
