Uganda and Tanzania are actively working to integrate gender into their climate action policies. While this fact is laudable, analysis of these two countries’ national and local policies have found some gaps, specifically in the ways that women’s experiences are being stereotyped as well as the erasure of their agency. In addition to this, while a lot of the policy proposals are laudable, the reality on the ground is much more complex with regard to implementation as there remains little to no budgetary allocation for the work.
