Hannah Gross is one of 10,000 female wild land firefighters in the United States. In this historically male-dominated field women often face implicit bias, sexism, and gatekeepers who didn’t make them welcome. Various initiatives have been created to increase the number of women in fire, foster their leadership capabilities, and improve their operational confidence in the field.
