The North Pole is a television series that about Oakland’s residents of color who are up against the violence of gentrification and environmental destruction in the East Bay of the San Francisco metropolitan area. Produced by Josh Healey, the series focuses on communication and unity between residents of the area and new residents who are contributing to the gentrification of the area. Writer Chinaka Hodge, leading character Reyna Amaya, and former Black Panther party member Ericka Huggins are all women storytellers engaged in the creation of this intersectional climate justice initiative.
