Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh, also known as Mother Mushroom, is a Vietnamese blogger who on many occasions has blogged about human rights, environmental issues and environmental crimes. Her numerous writings on the Formosa Ha Tinh Steel company disaster shed light on why dozens of metric tons of fish died and drew government attention. Consequently, she has been assaulted and detained several times by the police. Now, she has been unjustly sentenced to ten years in prison for her online and offline activities.
