Growing up in rural Kenya, Rose Karimi witnessed the struggle of women coffee farmers. Now a doctoral student at Rutgers University, Rose developed an organization to help women in her community. Women Going Green is a five-year project allowing small-scale women farmers to adopt low-cost climate change adaptation strategies, such as solar-powered drip irrigation systems, and achieve food security.
