The impacts of climate change, from melting glaciers to changing monsoons, have damaged crops and added to the daily work burdens of the Indigenous Mugal women of Nepal. Alina Saba of the Mugal Indigenous Women Upliftment Institute has worked for several years to document the impacts of climate change on Indigenous women through participatory action research, which facilitates women’s empowerment in both local and international advocacy for climate adaptation in their communities.
