In response to budget cuts put forth by the Trump Administration, Dr. Jennifer Lowry has been crafting editorials, phoning her elected officials, and encouraging others to speak out against drastic budget cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Lowry has worked with the EPA as a toxicologist, pediatrician, and medical director in Kansas City to protect children’s health; however, she fears the administration’s proposed cuts will debilitate the EPA’s ability to regulate harmful chemical and environmental exposures, fund research into exposure, and thus, negatively impact children’s health.
