In Greece 48 women’s cooperatives are challenging neoliberalism with an environmentally conscious degrowth economy. The popularity of women’s cooperatives rose when many women lost their jobs during the disastrous economic crisis. The success of these cooperatives comes from a wider support for traditional products that can be linked directly to local land and communities. Women produce and pack traditional Greek delicacies themselves, such as orange jam.
