Florah Maswanganyi is a small-scale farmer who began by raising chickens. Due to a chronic drought as a result of climate change, Florah’s chickens could not bear the heat and perished. Losing livestock and money each day, Florah decided to apply for a land access application. Florah was successful in obtaining two hectares of land that she has cleared and cultivated on her own, now farming vegetables like butternut squash and beetroot.
