Gita Pariyar and Danu Ale are co-CEOs of the business Ashmita and Laxmi Saurya Urjah and Traders, bringing solar power to the remote villages of Nepal’s Gorkha District, which was acutely impacted by the 2015 earthquake. Part of the Dalit and Indigenous Magar castes, respectively, Pariyar and Ale face extreme discrimination and low standards of living, yet they are dedicated to empowering the women in their communities through access to health care, employment, and electricity.
