Former president of Ireland Mary Robinson presented a keynote address at the “Women and Climate Change Symposium” at Georgetown University’s Institute for Women, Peace and Security to launch the report “Women and Climate Change: Impact and Agency in Human Rights, Security and Economic Development.” She stressed the importance of women’s participation in the decision-making processes of the UN climate change negotiations and emphasized the need to close the gap between commitments and implementation.
